I was just looking at your page on the reptiles of the Jarrah Forest and you asked if anyone knew why the bearded dragon had toes like it has. I wondered whether you were referring to the rear feet, and if you are I suspect the reason theses toes are longer is for hanging on trees truncks with fiberous bark. Like goannas I think they use their claws as anchors and hang from them, in other words, legs facing up the tree. Frlled neck lizards do this to.
