We have been visiting this site for several months now and find it such a calm and relaxing place to be, my partner is mostly taken by the various flower varieties found in the area and loves to take many a photo to add to her collection, we love the old Collie River that gently flows past (I bet it has some stories to tell).
The downfall are the mines that pollute the tranquil and peaceful setting with their machines, blasting and so on (that's progress I suppose) we hope it never encroaches on towards the Buckingham grounds and of course there are the wrong doers....I am a member of the 'Keep Australia Beautiful Campaign' and it frustrates me to see litter just scattered and left to pollute our bushland and waterways, my partner and I always without fail will do a litter run cleaning up our immediate area from previous persons and go beyond to walk through the bush and along the waters edge to clean up this beautiful country that some people fail to realise that they have it good. We hope this site never fails to exist as it will be our special place for as long as we can help prevent it from falling.

Really enjoying your site and your writing!
One side of my Family - The YOUDs - were Collie people : Great Grandparents came around 1900 (from Victoria but VIA Albany, and originally from Staffordshire), and were more Railway and Poultry Farm workers, I think. My Mum and her sister always talked in glowing terms of the holidays spent in Collie in the 1920s and 30s......

Hi Jim,
Just a quick message to say that I'm really enjoying reading your stories. It brings back fond memories of my childhood growing up at Muja and my days fishing and marroning at the river at Bucks. Have they ever been published in a book, That would be great as I would defiantly like a copy.
